I’ve worked hard to build this wreck My hands are like weathered stones Finding scraps from all the junkyards To construct the barest bones Breathing life into rusted metal Was not a simple feat Once I get this junker running I will not suffer defeat Behind the wheel at the starting line Engine revving in pain Waiting for the flag to drop To race for monetary gain I look around at my fellow racers And see a landscape full of debris But once I put the pedal to metal My soul, it will be free |
