Eyes full of darkness No light penetrates No sounds to hear Echoless cavern Chilled metal clings to skin Flesh is hardening Cold chamber chills the bones Deep freeze encroaching A metal door swings open Fluorescent glow blinds the eyes Warmth returns to the flesh Yet motion is still elusive Head swimming in chaos All thoughts incohesive Motion comes through outside means No motor skills are functioning Cataplexic - the body cold A state of panic - taking hold Trapped inside - a freezing shell A dream becomes - a living hell Morbid conversations looming Attempts to speak made in vain Sounds of instruments clinking Antiseptic lingers in sinuses Sharp steel pressing flesh Blood expelled along with tears Examinations begin Doomed to watch the grim conclusion Cataplexic - the body cold A state of panic - taking hold Trapped inside - a freezing shell A dream becomes - a living hell Motion comes again Rolled back into the chamber The door slams; the chill returns Once again enclosed in darkness Lucidity slowly slipping away All thoughts dissipating Grasping for connection Fading into nothing |
